South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is one of the world’s oldest mental health providers, with origins dating to 1247 when the Priory of St Mary of Bethlehem was founded in the City of London. Today we provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the United Kingdom, serving around 1.3 million people across Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon, and delivering national and specialist services. Each year we care for more than 5,000 inpatients and support over 40,000 people in the community.
